Be SMARTer Than the Rest!: Embracing the Interactive Whiteboard
Feel like your interactive whiteboard is not being used often enough? Don't have enough time to create original interactive activities? Not a problem. The web is full to bursting with interactive activities on all topics or subjects. You just need to know where to look.
Don't have a SMARTboard? Or your school uses a different brand of interactive whiteboard?
Then consider converting the files to Promethean's ActivInspire, it is an option when opening a file, or use SMART Technologies SMART Notebook Express. Promethean has a free personal edition of ActivInspire to download or use the web-based or downloadable version of SMART Notebook Express. Both seem to work just fine but you may lose some functionality or attractiveness. Or email and I can convert a file to Powerpoint.
Don't have an interactive whiteboard? Budget crunch blues got you down? Always up for a do-it-yourself project?
Consider creating an inexpensive, interactive whiteboard by using components you may already have sitting around. With an open mind and a CAN DO attitude you might just be able to make what you want. Learn more here.
This learning station session will show how one librarian uses interactive whiteboard technology to integrate information literacy and 21st century skills into the curriculum.
Participants will:
- learn about web resources for interactive activities on all topics or subjects
- discover tips and tricks to making original activities
- see how the interactive whiteboard can increase student engagement
- leave the learning station with techniques, strategies and ideas they can quickly put into practice
